UK’s Penzance Casino Raises Money For Refugees
Organizers will host a very glamorous evening of gambling, music and cocktails in a bid to raise money for the refugees. The event will take place at The Ritz, Penzance, on December 12. There will be a strict “dress to impress” dresscode and the event will start at 7:30 pm.
Guests will be entertained with music from famous DJs such as Dave Spenceley, Molly Wright, and King Louis. “I have organized a couple of fundraising nights in my life, they have always worked, but this will be the biggest venue of such kind I have ever had to fill”, said co-organiser Holly Whitelaw.
How Do The Organisers Describe This?
“I am quite nervous, but I have worked with my fellow organiser Holly Moore to pull some crazy acts together. Christmas is coming and holidays are near, so we think this is a good way of spoiling yourself at this fundraising event”.
The event will host an auction at 11pm, where bidders will be able to use the gambling chips that come with their tickets to bid.
“A ticket is all you need, and that gives you all your chips”, said Holly.
“David Lay is the one who will run the auction, and people will fight for some amazing prizes such as booze, massages, holidays, and appointments.“Our aim is to aid the refugee crisis with all we can. We have done some pretty good research on how things are in Europe, and since government is not getting involved, normal people have to step up.”
All the money which will be raised on 12th of December will go towards Refugee Aid, Rachel Emec and Medecins Sans Frontieres. Rachel Emec is a fundraiser who aims to help refugees in Kos, Greece.

Tickets will cost £12 and £15 on the door, dropping to just £6 after 11:30pm just for dancing and cocktails, and are available from the Rum Shack in St. Ives, The Salt Bar in Hayle, the Old Stables in St. Just, and the Vault in Penzance. Visit www.tickethive.co.uk/store to buy tickets online.
The creators of this wonderful event will be at the Vault, Penzance, from 12pm on 12th of December.
“The Second Event”
The event is the second reformation gig after last Saturday the same organizers raised £13,400 for refugees at Penzance. Tamzin Wood, founder of the Refugee Aid, admitted that “everything went really well – we had a packed house and the atmosphere was simply amazing.
More than 40 people were on the dance floor for the event last week, so an even more successful charity art auction is expected to take place on December 12.
Such initiatives should be praised not only for their goal of helping others, but to raise awareness in other parts of the world where similar actions could take place. A better world starts with great things, and the event at Penzance will be a memorable one for the refugees who will receive aid.
