No VIP rooms says SJM Holding and Louis XIII Holdings agrees
SJM Holdings casino operator in Macau informs that Lisboa Palace resort, that is being built, now will not offer its visitors any of the VIP gambling rooms as according to the recent statistics very few VIP gamblers visit even the best gambling establishments now.
The Lisboa Palace is planning to be opened in the fourth quarter of 2017 but Angela Leong On Kei, SJM executive director comments that there won’t be any of the VIP gaming rooms in the palace. She told to Macao Daily that there is still a possibility they would open VIP rooms, but this decision will be made due to the fact whether the demand for such a product actually exists.
Such a decision of SJM was the result of Melco Crown Entertainment’s plan to create their new Studio City resort with nary a single VIP table. Melco Entertainment explained that they came to such a decision as a result of depressed VIP market in Macau and because the property could issue only 250 gaming tables -200 now and 50 later on January, 1. Although it was expected to have 400. As to Lisboa Place, SJM planned to put 700 tables, but this will hardly ever become true.
Louis XIII faces up VIP Decline Bravely
The VIP gaming downturn in Macau influenced badly Louis XIII Holdings too, as it is building an über-luxurious boutique hotel on the Cotai-Colaone border and has the plans to open it in summer 2016. Without any traces of anxiety, they have been filling papers with the Hong Kong Exchange this week proving its “niche strategy of targeting a global clientele of high net worth customers seeking a unique luxury experience is well positioned to compete in a slow market.”

The intention to open a casino demands Louis XIII to make a sub-licensing agreement with one of the 6 casino concessionaires in Macau, but due to the Macau authorities’ perseverance to follow its gaming table cap , Louis XIII mysterious partner may have chosen to wait.
However, the company tells that its property, which will be called Louis XIII, has already finished with its exterior design and begins interior works. We do not doubt that they will leave some rooms for furbishing later after profound thinking under this problem.
