Lottoland launched the lottery in Bitcoins
Lottery operator Lottoland launched the world’s first Bitcoin lottery. All players who decided to participate in the classic lottery “6 out of 49” will get a chance to break the jackpot of 1000 bitcoins, which is equivalent to 14.2 million euros.
Starting from December 18, the drawings will be held daily, except Sundays.
According to Lottoland, the chances of winning the Bitcoin jackpot are 14 million to 1, which makes the possibility to win in EuroMillions (a product that Lottoland plans to purge from its UK offering soon) in 10 times more likely.
Nigel Birrel, CEO of Lottoland, said, “We are pleased to announce the launch of this exclusive lottery product on the global market. 1000 bitcoins already cost 14 million pounds sterling today, but tomorrow they can cost twice as much. Bitcoin is a huge phenomenon all over the world, and Lottoland gives our customers the opportunity to join this system. “
Bitcoin lottery is supported by the Lottoland insurance model, guaranteeing all payments and giving customers access to the largest lottery jackpots in the world.
Lottoland, founded in 2013, is one of Ireland’s most famous lottery operators today. Previously, there have been controversies about allowing players to bet on lotteries held in other jurisdictions, such as America’s Powerball and Mega Millions in Europe. Nevertheless, the company acquired a significant market share on the Emerald Isle, which was promoted by its reasonable marketing tactics.

The daily lottery is held at 8:30 pm GMT from Monday to Saturday and has more than 1000+ BTC jackpots. In the case of several winners, the share of each of them in the Bitcoin Lotto jackpot will depend on the number of lucky ones.
At its core, this new product is more novel than the real innovation, since the only altered element is the ability to win a prize in Bitcoin. Lottoland will also offer winners the opportunity to receive the cash equivalent of the prize, which will really be impressive due to the extraordinary high transaction fees.
With annual revenues of about $ 355 million, more than 300 employees and about six million customers – many of whom come from outside Ireland – Lottoland enjoys great success.
“Bitcoin is a phenomenon all over the world, and Lottoland gives our customers the opportunity to participate in the big league,” said the Irish company manager Graham Ross.
