January Brings the Very First Poker Tournaments of 2016
January has brought with it a wide selection of poker tournaments with amazing events, ensuring something for everyone. In addition to PCA, there are other very anticipated poker festivals as well, and they offer million of dollar in cash in awesome prize pools. Here’s a list with the main poker events in the first week of January.
2016 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure
The 2016 PCA is set to start on the 6th of January at the incredible Atlantis in The Bahamas. The tournament will boast a $300 + $5,000 Main Event between 8th and 13th of January, and the winners of this glamorous event will receive free accommodation for 10 days at the resort. The PCA will gather the cream of the world’s poker talent, in addition to other qualifiers from all over the globe who will come to battle for outstanding amounts of money in 94 events – the smallest buy-in will be $120.
The 2015 tournament saw 816 players fighting in the Main Event, creating a staggering prize pool of almost $8 million. Kevin Schulz from the US won the event at that time, collecting almost $1.5 million.
For those who don’t know, the PCA is the largest poker event held outside of Las Vegas. Make sure you are there!
2016 LuckyHearts Poker Open
In 2016, Seminole HardRock Casino&Hotel will host the event taking place between 7th and 20th January. We are talking about thirty different events and prize money of up to $1,000,000. This month’s tournament is part of Seminole HardRock Poker which encompasses 4 major poker series taking place annually.
When first introduced in 2013, this event boasted a $10,000,000 guarantee championship, the biggest in history.

There will be a 2-day Hold’em event with a prize money total of half a million dollars. The Main Event will boast a $1000 + $100 buy-in and will start on the 14th of January, taking place until the 18th of January. There will also be a 5-day $350 Hold’em event with half a million dollars in prize money. This one is definitely worth entering.
2016 World Series of Poker Circuit @ Choctaw
The WSOP Circuit event from 2016 will be hosted at Choctaw Hotel&Casino Resort, and will begin on the 7th of January. There will be eleven days with 15 events. Buy-ins will vary from $240 to just over $1600 for the 4-day Main Event (beginning January 15).
2016 Million Dollar Heater
Beau Rivage Casino&Resort will host this year’s poker festival in Mississippi, startin from the 8th of January. Players will be able to choose from 16 events, both Pot-Limit Omaha and Hold’em. There will be a guaranteed amount of half a million dollars as prize money. As for buy-ins, they will vary from $250 for the short events to $3,100 for the Main Event, which will begin on the 16th of January for 4 days.
Pot-Limit Omaha Championship: 2016 Edition
The exciting tournament will be held between January 9 and 10, and players who are interested will need to pay the buy-in of $1,500. Taking place in Delaware Park in Wilmington, this year’s edition seems to have attracted many players.
