Mecca Bingo smashes the world record for largest office bingo game

No less than 235 colleagues from Mecca Bingo Online and the Rank Group gathered recently to set a new world record – the biggest game of office bingo. The attempt took place on the 12th of September at the headquarters of Rank Group in Maidenhead where all colleagues joined forces to smash this uncommon world record.

The gathering was not all about fun and play though because, besides breaking the world record successfully, they also took part in a major charity event along with their partner, Carers Trust. The charity goal was to raise funds for the seven million carers registered in the UK. And the record breakers have had the chance to show that they have big hearts as well and they managed to raise over 400000 pounds through their effort.

The record-breaking part of the evening was no easy task as the previous such record was set by a team of 97 TaskUs employees back in 2012, in the Philippines. So with their achievement, the Mecca Bingo employees really set the bar up high by smashing the previous records with 138 extra players. So their record should be safe for a while, or at least until a larger team decides it’s time for a creative team-building activity and does it with 400 or more employees. Time will then in that matter.

To lead the record-breaking attempt, the Mecca Bingo group called in Paul Health, one of their former employees and a very experienced bingo caller that handled thousands of games throughout his career. The Mecca Bingo online spokesman declared that it was a lot of fun coming together as a team and smashing the world record. An activity that comes naturally for them since they’re the UK’s top bingo company.

The partnership between Mecca Bingo Online and Cares Trust started in 2014 and since then the two teams managed to raise impressive amounts through various charity works around the country. The CEO of Carers Trust declared that it was a real delight to see the teams of Rank Group and Mecca Bingo together to raise funds in their name and also breaking a world record while at it. He said that the funds raised would be used to supply carers around the country with equipment and training in order for them to be as effective as possible in the work they do.
