Mecca Bingo Provides Free Celebration for Underappreciated Unpaid Carers
As a reward for local carers in the area, the Sale Mecca Bingo will be holding Care O’Clock: a party celebrating the good work these people have carried out for their community.
The celebration will take place on Saturday, October 28th, chosen to fit in with the clocks moving back by one hour on Sunday morning.
The date was chosen to highlight the fact that unpaid carers get precious little time for themselves due to their hard work. The extra free hour from the change is symbolic of the time they should receive.
Many carers are forced to sacrifice time with their loved ones, or even a career, in order to look after an elderly or disabled person. The amount of work required can be monumental, but for many people, there are few other options.
The club manager, Graeme Ewart, understands the difficulty they face. His team has provided tireless support to the workers, and feels that the club owes them thanks on behalf of the work they do for the community.
The nation’s unpaid carers work incredibly long hours, often for a family member or friend. Mecca Bingo looks forward to welcoming carers and providing a much-needed evening of free fun.
Today, the club has expanded from bricks and mortar business into Mecca Bingo online, including Mecca Bingo slots.

The interim CEO of the Trust, Giles Meyer, has voiced his appreciation for the hard work Mecca Bingo has put into helping the workers. Like many others, he feels that the Care O’Clock party will be a great success. Any Sale carers are heartily encouraged to register for a place at the proceedings.
Refreshments will be provided, as well as a number of free bingo sessions. Plus, all those present will be provided with a chance of winning a chocolate gift – the event happens to coincide with National Chocolate day, an opportunity too good to miss.
Therefore, there will be a fantastic free prize draw for a gift much coveted by all those present: a year’s supply of free chocolate from supplier Nestlé.
The event will kick off at 6.30pm. Anyone interested in attending should register at their local carer’s service. All necessary details are available directly from the Carers’ Trust at their website: www.carers.org
